Richard MacDonald has been a boxing coach for 40+ years, mainly to make people feel better and to take the fear out of their lives. Richard began training as a youngster with his brother. Over the years, he has seen the benefits boxing has had in his life and in the lives of others - becoming fearless and gaining confidence. Richard has trained and worked with some of the great Canadian Fighters: IFDA World Junior Lightweight Champ Doris Hackl, Pro Canadian Welterweight Champ Ricky Anderson, Canadian Middleweight Champ Ralph Hollet, Canadian Light Heavyweight Champ Jason Naugler, and various Canadian Amateur Boxing Champions. Richard continues to train numerous amateur boxers, both male and female, helping them to do well inside and outside of the ring.
Richard is also an electrician by trade, and has been writing songs since he was a child. A few years ago, through the encouragement of family and friends, he began to record his songs. He has found some excellent musicians to contribute to the music and his CDs. Richard has developed a musical style that is as unique as he is. Folk, country, rock, and a touch of jazz; it's all there. For more information about Richard MacDonald's music and his band Richard & Somebody's Kids, check out the links below:
